RONSON WINS MAJOR CONTRACT FOR EVOLVED SEASPARROW MISSILE PROGRAM

Ronson Gears are delighted to confirm that we have been awarded the contract to deliver precision gears and gear assemblies for the Evolved SeaSparrow Missile (ESSM) program.

The three year full rate production contract is part of the collaboration between BAE Systems Australia and a major US Defence prime. The program consists of a consortium of up to 12 nation states including the US, Australia, Canada and Norway.

So what is the program set to deliver?

The Evolved SeaSparrow Missile (ESSM) program is a medium-range, surface-to-air missile developed to protect warships from advanced anti-ship cruise missiles.

Ronson Gears manufacture spur gears, bevel gears and gear couplings; supplying a finished kit incorporating loose gears and gear assemblies.

The contract confirms Ronson Gears position as a trusted defence and aerospace supplier. Managing Director, Gavin New, said: “Constant communication with BAE has ensured over the years that our relationship is one of integrity and reliability. It is one we are very proud of.”
