Australia rising to the challenge of COVID-19

In these unprecedented times it’s reassuring to know that schemes are being put in place to help businesses keep their heads above water.

Australian businesses themselves are also taking the initiative and rising to the challenge. Adapting their skills and resources to develop products to meet the needs of the current crisis.

Here are a few examples that have been curated from the most recent issue of Manufacturers’ Monthly, and clearly illustrates the efforts being made…

Grey Innovation, a technology and engineering company, is utilising a $500,000 Government grant to develop ventilators after securing a license from a leading global manufacturer to make ventilators in Australia……

A consortium formed by CSL, the Australian bio tech giant, intends to bring together leading biomedical manufacturers to develop a potential plasma therapy to help in the fight against the coronavirus……

SME’s will be given 2 years to defer rent payments to mitigate ‘the rapid and severe commercial impact’.

It’s a momentous effort by both Government agencies and Australian business to tackle the virus itself and the effects of it – with substantial funding for Victorian business being made available

It’s reassuring to know that in times like these Australian business and Government agencies can rally round with these kind of initiatives. We salute you.
