Australian agriculture plays a very important role in the economy, our food security and socially; with many communities depending on agriculture for their livelihoods.

In fact, the last available figures show Australian agriculture contributed to 13.6% of goods and services exported and 2.7 % of value added (GDP) according to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

It plays a valued and significant portion of our business at Ronson Gears too – going all the way back to when we started out some 70 years ago.

So, it’s important to us all how agriculture is faring and what are the predicted outcomes for the sector going into 2025?

That’s why we thought this Outlook report for agriculture compiled by Bendingo Bank, partnering Rural Bank, would be of interest to many.

There’s an executive summary at the beginning of the report that gives you a quick digest of the main points.

There’s a lot to consider. Weather patterns, geo political uncertainties and economic outlooks. The analysis takes into account past trends and projects these to give scenarios as to what we may expect going forward.

As well as some analysis by state, taking into account regional differences, it reports by sector. Sectors include cattle, cropping, dairy, horticulture, sheep and wool.
