A real milestone is announced by Pure Hydrogen Corporation who have registered Australia’s first ever hydrogen powered prime mover.

It is in collaboration with global food and beverage giant PepsiCo.

Pure hydrogen will provide refuelling, maintenance and repair services for the Hydrogen Fuel Cell 6×4 Prime Mover.

The ‘Taurus’ Prime Mover is part of a six month trial with PepsiCo to assess the commercial viability of hydrogen powered vehicles as part of their distribution operation.

Hopefully the trial will demonstrate to a broader range of local and international customers the potential of hydrogen for prime mover fleets.

Pure Hydrogen’s Managing Director, Scott Brown, whilst excited at being able to demonstrate hydrogen’s potential, did express his disappointment and frustration with the time it had taken to get the truck on the road. He said that ‘the red tape for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles is far too restrictive and badly needs an urgent overhaul.’

The aim is obviously to get wider scale adoption for hydrogen powered fleets. For the full article appearing in australianmanufacturing.com.
