Gear Expo – with a name change that marks a new expansion

 

2019 will mark a new era in Gear Expo with a name change, a wider appeal and the largest ever event planned.

According to Jenny Blackford, VP of Marketing at AGMA, it all started back in 1986 with a table-top show and the venue was a ballroom!

Things have certainly changed since then! Gear Expo has grown exponentially – they now get up to 5,000 visitors and 500 exhibitors from 30 countries.

And so it grows…..

The strategy for 2019 and beyond will be to expand upon this success with a change of name to…….

‘MOTION+ POWER TECHNOLOGY EXPO (MPT) EXPO

So why the change…..?

The changes will mean that the event now appeals to everyone in the gear manufacturing supply chain including the end users of mechanical power transmission, electric drives and fluid power.

We are talking about an event now that will be around 30% larger with a new venue to handle the increase in footfall and capacity – Detroit’s Cobo Center…….exhibitors need to start planning and reserving for this – so check it out here
