A Hero of Precision

We always seem to be talking of the future and the latest developments in these pages. So, it may be a refreshing change, especially as Ronson are renowned for our precision, to celebrate the work of a precision hero of the past – linking to a recent article in Gear Technology on John Harrison (1693 – 1776). He was a British clockmaker (and carpenter) whose precision chronometer enabled seafarers to calculate longitude with such an astounding degree of accuracy that it revolutionised exploration.
